SSCB Safeguarding Children Multi-agency Training Courses – November, December 2023 and January 2024

Level 1 multi-agency training needs to be undertaken within three months of starting your employment and repeated every three years if your job role includes contact or potential contact with children and/or their parents or carers.

Level 2 multi-agency training is designed for any job role that includes or potentially includes contributing to assessing, planning, intervening or evaluating the needs of a child or contributing to assessing, planning, intervening or evaluating parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns. Level 2 multi-agency training needs to be undertaken within 12 months of starting your employment and updated every two years with a Level 3 role specific training course.

 

FREE – Early Help Assessment

Designated Leads for your organisation and other practitioners who will be undertaking an Early Help Assessment (this is mandatory for those partners who will be holders of an on-line Outcome Star license as the training is accredited)

FREE – Graded Care Profile 2 Training (Masterclass)

To enable front line staff working with children and families in their home environment with the tools and techniques to identify and assess neglect in children through a comprehensive, practical, evidenced-based assessment tool for evaluating levels of parental care. The tool uses a graded scale (1-best 5-worst) to capture levels of physical and emotional care and can be used alongside existing tools.

FREE – Unintentional Injuries among Children under 5
To increase awareness and knowledge of unintentional injuries among children under 5 and to raise awareness of deliberate injuries that may occur. Your role in the prevention and reduction of injuries. Note: this session focus’ on childhood accidents.

Level 1 Core slides for Nov 23 – Aug 24 

Aimed at the Designated Safeguarding Lead to deliver level 1 training in house. Core slides can be purchased on an annual basis and will provide you with the opportunity to deliver a locally designed product that contains the most up to date information, including thresholds and referral pathways, as well as information about key priority areas for the Board. The core slides include trainer notes.

Level 2 Working Together to Safeguard Children Multi Agency Training

New members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns.

Level 3 Children and Domestic Abuse Multi-agency Training

Update for Level 2 certificate

A one-day workshop aimed to increase the understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on children. Create a greater understanding of the need for multi-agency working to manage safer outcomes.

Updates regarding current and emerging issues including learning from recent local reviews. Understanding of long-term neglect, domestic abuse and the impact this can have on children being neglected. Making a referral. Expectations of a child protection conference.
