Information Sharing – Seven Golden Rules

Date: Friday, 26th Apr 2024 | Category: General

The Department of Education have released a report ‘Information Sharing Advice for practitioners providing safeguarding services for children, young people, parents and carers’.

This HM Government advice outlines the importance of sharing information about children, young people and their families in order to safeguard children and the report delivers the seven golden rules of information sharing.

Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board’s Information Sharing Agreement developed inline with national guidance can be found on the Boards website here.

Following the launch of the new Working Together 2023 safeguarding partners have started the discussion with all partners to plan how we embed the new guidance across Staffordshire. There are planned workshops with key stakeholders and senior leaders across the partnership to develop our new arrangements and priorities. In our initial workshop, there was unanimous agreement that children’s needs and their complexity has increased.

We, as a partnership need to engage more and do more to support children and families at the earliest opportunity to keep families together. We will share the details of this work regularly, so that you are all aware about the next steps.
