News from our Partners February 2023

Date: Tuesday, 28th Feb 2023 | Category: General

This month Safer Internet Day 2023 fell within Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week and Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week so this month’s round-up includes sections on Online Safety, Mental Health, and Violence Against Women & Girls.

The government has also published its Children’s social care strategy, and there are links to the documents and associated consultations as well as a useful summary. However, the main focus is support for LGBTQ+ children and young people during LGBTQ+ History Month.

There are also sections on:

  • Child Sexual Abuse
  • Child Exploitation
  • County Lines
  • Youth Violence
  • Modern Slavery
  • Substance Misuse

CDOP Child Death Prevention Newsletter – Safer Sleeping Week – Pyjamas March 2023

The Child Death Overview Panel Newsletter is circulated to all partners within Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent with public health messages relevant to learning from local child death reviews.

We know that the way we communicate has changed massively during the last couple of years so we like to take the opportunity to encourage this to be shared as widely as possible. Please share within your organisation to professionals for their reference when working with children and families. Also please share directly with members of the public, families, children and young people. You may want to do this through:

  • Noticeboards and waiting areas.
  • To accompany your own newsletters whether printed or virtual.
  • Through your website and social media platforms.
  • In group work or directly with individuals.
  • On digital displays.

If you have an innovative way that you are using the CDOP newsletter to share health promotion messages, we would love to hear from you!
