Safeguarding training explained

Level 1 Training – Level 1 mandatory training needs to be undertaken within three months of starting your employment and repeated every three years if your job role includes contact with children and/or their parents or carers.

Level 2 Multi-agency Training – Level 2 multi-agency training is mandatory for safeguarding leads and designed for any job role that includes or potentially includes contributing to assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating the needs of a child or contributing to assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns.  Level 2 multi-agency training needs to be undertaken within 12 months of starting your employment and updated every two years with a Level 3 role specific training course.  Pre-requisite Level 1.

Level 3 Multi-agency Training – These courses offer greater insight on specific topics and can provide the refresher or update required every two years.

FREE – Unintentional Injuries among Children under 5

To increase awareness and knowledge of unintentional injuries among children under 5 and to raise awareness of deliberate injuries that may occur. Your role in the prevention and reduction of injuries. Note: this session focus’ on childhood accidents.

Level 1 Core slides for Sept 24 – Aug 25 *£80 Special Offer*(£100 to purchase in October 2024)

Aimed at the Designated Safeguarding Lead to deliver level 1 training in house. Core slides can be purchased on an annual basis and will provide you with the opportunity to deliver a locally designed product that contains the most up to date information, including thresholds and referral pathways, as well as information about key priority areas for the Board. The core slides include trainer notes.

A one-day workshop aimed to increase the understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on children. Create a greater understanding of the need for multi-agency working to manage safer outcomes.

Level 3 E Safety and Dark Net Multi-agency Training

Update for Level 2 certificate
Have an awareness of the risk factors associated with internet use, mobile phones and the Darknet. Understand the types of technologies which are available to harm and abuse children. Have an increased understanding of technological communications. Definition of the Dark Web, Deep Web and Open Web. How the Dark Web can be accessed – What is TOR. The reasons why a young person might want to access the Dark Web. What to do if a young person has accessed the Dark Web. Have an awareness of behaviours used by perpetrators on the internet to target, groom and abuse. Have an awareness of safety and educational strategies aimed at minimising risk. Understand how children and young people can protect themselves. Understand when to make a referral and to whom.
